Do you price match?
Yes we guarantee we are the significantly cheaper for the same spec style and model of quad bike.
We regulary check prices with other UK sellers to make sure we are providing the best price possible.
Our price match promise needs to meet the following criteria:
- The product is in stock and in the UK.
- The engine is the same type, voltage and wattage.
- The warranty policy is equal to ours or longer.
- The fairings are the same type.
- If we advertise as “fully assembled” the competitors must also be so.
- The seller is a legitimate company who is also VAT registered with an online store.
Please send us a link to the product link you would like us to price match to info@offspeed.co.uk
What age does my child have to be?
Disclaimer: Our quads are not toys and should not be treated like a children’s toy, please see our terms and conditions for advice on what age your child should be to ride our quads.
Recommended ages are:
12+ 1060w models
16+ 1200w models
The age and capability is always the responsibility of the parents discretion.
Full motocross safety gear must be worn at all times when operating any type of vehicle, we do not sell safety clothing but would recommend you to look on Amazon for this type of gear, since they will be properly DOT rated.
Do you do delivery on quads?
Yes, your delivery will come on a pallet, UK mainland is cheaper than highlands, south west UK and west Wales.
Use the shipping calculator on checkout to see how much it would cost. Delivery usually takes 3 – 4 days
How long does the battery last?
Brushless drive shaft motors give great efficiency and we have seen a child ride one at full pelt around a field for a solid 45 minutes with the battery indicator only passing the first LED!
Usually when kids use quads they are stop starting most of the time and in this manner you can comfortably get a 2-3 hour outing, enough time for you as the adult to get fed up and call it a day for your reluctant child.
Can I ride electric quads in a park?
Off-road vehicles cannot be used in parks or on the public highway.
Under the Road Traffic Act 1988 motorised vehicles cannot be used anywhere off-road, except on private land with the landowner’s permission.
This means that mini motorbikes and quad bikes cannot legally be used on pavements, footpaths or cycle paths; nor can they usually be used on parkland, common land or wasteland.
What warranty do you provide?
Same as other reputable online sellers of these types of goods due to the nature they are used the warranty is bound by terms and conditions.
The most expensive parts of the vehicles, the motor, battery and controller are covered by a 6 month warranty providing nothing has been done according to our T&C’s to void the warranty.
The drive shaft motors in our quads are sealed electrical units the is nothing to service or go wrong in them, we stock all spare parts for our quads and can quickly send you a replacement item should an issue arise.
For distance selling customers you are expected to be able to fit the replacement part yourself or return the unit to us at your cost.
We do take great pride in customer service and aftercare, we do not advertise only from word or mouth so reputation is essential to our brand name.
Do you have a shop?
No, we trade from a secured private container yard where there is no public access.
If you wish to collect you can arrange to collect your quad fromt the yard in West Leeds, simply call or text us after placing your order to arrange this, do not simply show up without an appointment as security will not let you in unaccompanied.
OFFSPEED® QUAD BIKE MAINTENANCE TIPS
Regardless of the type of quad bike you own, you must ensure that you undertake regular inspection of this recreational vehicle before and after each use just like you would do with a car or motorbike.
We strongly advise you to take note of the following points:
- Where advertised, the quad bike will come pre-assembled at the factory, fully check over the quad before using it for the first time to make sure no parts have become loose during transport or from the previous use.
- Even though the quad is assembled, please follow the assembly instructions provided inside the charger box to familiarise yourself with how the quad is put together and maintained.
- In the charger box you will find a 30A fuse, insert it into the fuse-holder by the battery, when you do this it will give off a large spark, do not worry this is perfectly normal and it will not shock you.
- Wheel alignment can be done via the long silver bars leading from the steering column to the wheels, the quads are supplied unaligned.
Simply rest the quad upright on the back bumper and then straighten the handlebars to the neutral forward position.
Loosen the 13mm nuts either side of the bar then twist the bar by hand until you get a straight front wheel.
Do the same on the other side.
Once finished, tighten the two nuts again at each side of the silver bar. - Whilst the quad is upright, take a look at the brake callipers, they can also be adjusted using the silver thumbscrews on the callipers, your front wheels should spin freely if you have calibrated them correctly.
- Our quads are equipped with a forward and reverse switch, it is essential you explain to your child that under no circumstance this must be used unless the quad has completely stopped moving, if the switch is reversed whilst the quad is in a forward or reverse motion it could damage the motor by shearing the cogs inside the end caps.
- Due to the speed that can be achieved on a small and light frame it is essential that you avoid ramming into potholes and large bumps or ramps at full or even half speed. Constant full speed over hardened rugged terrain over time could result in a weakening of the frame.
- The weight limit is 75kg on 1060w quad bikes and 85kg on 1200w quad bikes, as tempting as it may be do not let an adult ride the quad, this really is the maximum weight they can handle, you will seriously damage the quad if you go above this weight restriction.
- The quads are fine to use in light rainy weather but must not be submerged in water.
- Do not let your guard down; these quads are fast and therefore dangerous.
It is up to you as a parent to decide whether your child is capable of handling the vehicle in the environment you allow them to ride in, always use full motorsport clothing protection and never leave your child unattended with the vehicle. - Please check all installation point nuts and bolts regularly, especially if you are using the quad on grassy and rough terrain, the ones around the turning knuckles where the front wheels connect to the frame are the most essential to check before each outing.
- If the vehicle is going into storage for a long while it’s advised you run it for 5-10 minutes at least once a month, this will help prevent any humidity settling into the brushless motor bearings and seizing the motor.
- Leave the quad on charge for 9 hours for the first initial charge, this will boost your battery life.
